Conference USA: What to Watch For In Week Three

With Conference USA having some upsets and let downs in last weeks matchups, this week is less exciting. Considering no team faces a Top 25 Ranked team this week, and one game has already been postponed due to Hurricane Irma. There are some in conference matchups that will shake up the standings depending on who wins, and some potential Power 5 upsets available. With that being said, here is this weeks schedule along as what to watch for in each game!

Arizona @ UTEP
UTEP is looking for an upset at home, but with the way Arizona has been playing, this seems highly unlikely.

Coastal Carolina @ UAB
UAB is looking to bounce back defensively after letting Ball State score 20 unanswered points and run away with the game. UAB is looking to stay undefeated at home against Coastal.

Florida Intl @ Indiana
Cancelled due to Hurricane Irma

North Texas @ Iowa
If North Texas can eliminate the careless turnovers from the previous game, they could easily keep up with Iowa. But traveling and winning in Iowa will still be a major feat to accomplish against this Power 5 School.

Middle Tennessee @ Minnesota
Mid Tenn was able to pull off the upset last week against Syracuse. This weeks matchup is a bit tougher going against a defensively stout team.

North Carolina @ Old Dominion
Old Dominion is going to need a stellar performance from their defense again this week, to be able to keep up with the high-powered offense of North Carolina, who lost to Louisville last week.

North Carolina A&T @ Charlotte
Charlotte is looking for a big offensive game this week, and hopefully, a big win at home will boost their confidence down the next stretch of games.

Bethune-Cookman @ Florida Atlantic
FAU was able to keep up with Wisconsin last week and gave them a run for their money. FAU should be able to run away with this game and start earning some confidence towards the rest of the season.

Kent State @ Marshall
After Marshall let NC State escape with a win, they will be looking for a vengeance win at home. Expect Marshall to put up big numbers against Kent State this week.

Louisiana Tech @ Western Kentucky
After LTech and WKU let down their second week against Power 5 schools, the two face off in this inner conference matchup. WKU will need to get back to their heavy offensive days to ensure a win against LTech.

Southern @ UT San Antonio
After UTSA pulled the upset against Baylor last week, the team looks to build on their win streak against Southern was just blown out by Southern Miss.

Southern Mississippi @ Louisiana Monroe
After Southern Miss shut out Southern last week, they are looking to continue their onslaught of victories against Louisiana Monroe.

Rice @ Houston
Rice had some difficulty with conference rival UTEP last week, and going into an emotional game at Houston will not be in their favor.

Conference USA has some big games this week, be sure to keep an eye out for the recap of this week’s games after the last game of the week!
