NFL Picks for Week 1 – With the Spread

Every week I’ll be going over every game in the NFL and giving my prediction, with the point spread. I’ll also be keeping track of how good, or bad, I’ll be doing for the year. So, without any further ado, let’s get to the NFL Picks for week 1.

Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots (-8.5) – Some people are predicting the Patriots to go undefeated. I’m not going that far, but they look supremely dominant on paper. I think they try to flex their muscles early. Pick – Patriots

Atlanta Falcons at Chicago Bears (+7.5) – The Bears are one of the worst teams in the league and could end up picking in the top 5 picks in the draft. They could be facing a lot of double digit deficits this year. Pick – Falcons

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (-6.5) – These are 2 more teams that could easily be picking in the top 5 picks of the draft. When a team like these 2 get an almost TD spread, I’m taking the points. Pick – Jets

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals (-2.5) – Since I feel the Bengals will be better than most expect and the Ravens will be worse than most people expect, this is an easy pick for me. Pick – Bengals

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns (+9.5) – If the Browns weren’t in this division, they could be a .500 team. With that said, they lost about 5 games by a TD or less last year. They aren’t as bad as their 1-15 record. Take the points. Pick – Browns

Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions (-2.5) – Lions will try to shock the league again while the Cardinals try to get back on track. When the spread is 3 or less, just pick who you think will win the game. I’m not a big believer in Detroit. Pick – Cardinals

Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans (+0.5) – This will probably be the best game of week 1. The spread indicates how good this game can be. It’s truly a pick em game. Raiders were good last year, so a little extra experience may be the difference. Pick – Raiders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins (-0.5) – The Bucs are everyone’s wise guy pick to make the playoffs, just like the Titans for the AFC. I’m also one of those wise guys. Pick – Buccaneers

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins (-2.5) – This is another week 1 game that could go either way. Leaning towards the Redskins just because they’re at home. Pick – Redskins

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-4.5) – Jacksonville has talent, but when Bortles is off, which has been often recently, they look god-awful. They may crumble fast. Pick – Texans

Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Rams (+3.5) – It is now confirmed that Andrew Luck is out for week 1. He is the ruler and controller of their offense. With them already not being great on defense, that’s a bad combination. This one could go either way. Coin flip game. Pick – Rams

Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers (-2.5) – The Seahawks are in a bad division and have a top notch defense, that will be tested vs. Aaron Rodgers and 1 of the best offenses in the league. Another good close game coming. I’m going with A-Rod. Pick – Packers

Carolina Panthers at San Francisco 49ers (+5.5) – I would need more than a TD spread to pick the 49ers against most teams. Not much to explain here. Pick – Panthers

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) – The game that the schedule makers seem to make every year as an opener will happen once again. Giants have done very well in Dallas. Easy pick for me to take the points, even if Elliott plays. Pick – Giants

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) – Kind of a weird matchup for week 1. I actually think Minnesota wins the game, but I can see Brees keeping it close enough that an FG decides it. Saints have burned me in the past, giving them 1 more shot early. Pick – Saints

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos (-3.5) – Last game of the week is another great rivalry game. Those types of games are typically close. Denver’s defense will make a play late to keep the spread around a TD. Pick – Broncos

Keep an eye out for the picks every week. That wraps up the NFL picks for week 1. You can reach me on twitter @pacman453323. Enjoy the games.
