WWE Rumors: Samoa Joe and the Miz set to feud over the IC belt
On the RAW after Summerslam, we saw an interesting main event. It was a tag team match where John Cena and Roman Reigns were on one side and the other one saw the Miz team up with Samoa Joe. While it has been known for sometime that the WWE was planning on having a program between John Cena and Roman Reigns, there are now rumblings that we could be seeing the Miz and Samoa Joe feud over the IC belt.
There were serval sites that have been reporting rumors that the WWE could be having the Miz and Samoa Joe feud over the IC belt. Personally, this would be great for the belt. It seemed that the end of 2016 and most of 2017 we saw the Miz feud with Dean Ambrose and it was getting very boring. So it is nice to see the Miz feud with someone who he has never worked with before hand like Samoa Joe.
However, there is one thing that needs to be addressed regarding this possible feud. In the landscape of professional wrestling, you very rarely see a heel/heel or face/face program. There are a few cases where it does work and if the booking is done well, this could be one of the times that it works. You could make the argument that the last WWE feud that saw two heels or faces feud was in NXT. For the last several weeks, we saw the Authors of Pain feud with Sanity over the NXT tag titles. It is worth noting that both teams are heels.
In regards to this feud, I see Samoa Joe coming off as the face and the Miz as the heel. Since Samoa Joe has been on the main roster, he has been getting cheered (despite being a heel). All I know is that it will be interesting to see how it all pans out now that Summerslam is behind us.
This is only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
