WWE: Elimination Chamber participants announced

On the first Smackdown that aired after the Royal Rumble, Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon was backstage with AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, he would announce the participants for the Elimination Chamber. As Shane would end up announcing the participants are the WWE champion John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, the Miz, AJ Styles and current intercontinental champion Dean Ambrose. As reports started surfacing after John Cena won the title from AJ Styles at the Rumble, it was announced that the plan that WWE is planning on going with is that John Cena won’t be champion heading into Wrestlemania. It is expected that he will probably lose the belt at the Chamber.

Right off the back, I don’t see Dean Ambrose or the Miz winning the belt. In the case of Dean Ambrose, he is currently the intercontinental title and WWE won’t give him the belt. He was the WWE champion over the summer of 2016 and ended up losing the title to AJ Styles at Backlash that happened in September. I also don’t see the Miz winning the belt as WWE has not pushed him to be someone to hold the title. If the reports are true, I find it unlikely that WWE will put the belt right back on AJ Styles.

There have been reports going around that AJ Styles is on a collision course with WWE Smackdown live commissioner Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania. So with it being unlikely that AJ Styles, the Miz, or Dean Ambrose winning the belt, I can see WWE putting the belt on either Baron Corbin or Bray Wyatt.

I am not a betting man, but I feel that WWE will put the belt on Bray Wyatt and we get the end of the Wyatt Family. It’s been rumored for weeks that WWE was planning on putting the belt on Wyatt and thus setting up Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt for the WWE Champion. I am glad personally that this is the plan for WWE as Bray Wyatt has been on the main roster since 2013 and has been booked poorly. Also by putting the belt on Wyatt, the WWE universe will avoid having the main event of Wrestlemania be John Cena vs. Randy Orton.
